CBD for Stress, But for Work?

26/03/2021

A large portion of the research on cannabidiol (aka CBD for short) has investigated how CBD can help treat mental health issues, and especially stress, anxiety, and insomnia among them. But this is becoming common knowledge, right?

As CBD takes the world by storm, with hemp oil online in Australia, and in stores around the world, more and more people are turning to it to help with stress. Feedback from hundreds of our own customers, along with dozens of studies, tell us that hemp oil containing CBD is extremely effective in managing stress and anxiety. But what about using CBD oil to cope with stress at work, while at work?

Reasons for Taking CBD at Work

First up, no, don’t go smoking weed at work. That won’t make work easier! We’re talking about CBD here, which is one of many compounds in the cannabis plant, and one that will not make you high. (For those interested, it’s tetrahydrocannabinol, aka THC, that makes you high if you smoke weed).

Being Overwhelmed

As for reasons to take CBD at work, stress can be a major issue when it comes to being productive. Not enough stress, or motivation, and we often can’t be bothered to get anything done. On the other end of the spectrum is too much stress. Excessive stress can lead to anxiety, and that will actually inhibit our ability to work effectively.

We all know that feeling of being overwhelmed, of not being able to focus on the task at hand, of being distracted and making mistakes. Reducing stress levels so they are bearable, and one can focus, is a major reason to consider CBD for work. Several studies have shown CBD to be an effective treatment for stress and anxiety, so if you’re feeling overwhelmed you might want to consider buying some hemp oil online in Australia.

Increasing Focus

Yep, you read that right! While it’s true that CBD has been found to calm people down, to de-stress them, CBD has also been found to help with concentration.

In 2018, a clinical study on full spectrum CBD found that it can improve concentration, focus, and even help boost memory retention. That means working smarter, not harder, and getting things done!

Similarly, a 2020 study found that CBD improved cognitive function! Boost your IQ, anyone?

ADHD (ADD)

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), or ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects people’s ability to concentrate on the task at hand. It might sound a bit specific when it comes to a discussion of CBD and the workplace, but a 2016 study estimated that 2.8% of adults are affected by ADHD worldwide. That’s around 200 million people affected, so it’s far more common than you might think!

A recent 2020 study found the CBD oil effectively helped alleviate the symptoms of ADHD, increasing the ability to concentrate and focus for those affected. Yet another reason to consider taking CBD at work if you, or someone you know, suffers from ADHD.

Can Employees Take CBD at Work?

That’s difficult to say, and it might really come down to your employer. If drug tests occur at work, then you might want to go for a CBD isolate oil, as this type of hemp oil has zero THC, which is what drug tests usually look for.

If discretion is an issue, and you don’t feel comfortable using a dropper at your desk, or hiding in the restroom to do so, then THC-free CBD gummies could be a good option. They look just like regular candy, but have 50mg of CBD in each one!

Alternatively, you could try THC-free CBD chocolate. Delicious, dark chocolate, with 30mg of CBD in each one. Choices, choices!
